I moved to NYC in March 2008. When it came time to file my 2008 taxes, I turned to a so-called tax expert for assistance since I had to file in 2 different states and NY tax was completely foreign to me. What a nightmare! The guy filed as if I was a full time resident in both states, so my yearly income was counted in full in both states even though I only paid taxes in each state for the time I actually lived there. On top of that, he supposedly filed my taxes electronically… except they never went through. It wasn’t until June that I found out my taxes were never actually filed. Of course I had already paid him for his “service” which was a waste. I wound up at an H&R Block trying to get it all corrected. NIGHTMARE!The following year (and every year since), Foster Ventures has been my go-to tax service. My taxes are completed and filed without incident.  I get a detailed report, not only for the current year’s taxes, but a running comparison to past years’ returns. Everything is efficient, timely and above all, professional. And the fees for the services are extremely reasonable… in fact, less than what I’d have to pay at the assembly-line tax services without having to be part of the assembly line.  Foster Ventures is Personal, professional, and reliable. I have been a personal trainer at New York Health and Racquet Club for years and I had to purchase my own fitness equipment, uniforms, business cards, educational courses, certifications and gym supplies. Over the course of the year I spent at least $5000 or more of my earnings, which NYHRC never reimbursed me for. I knew Mike did taxes but I been going to my tax guy for years because I felt comfortable with him and I thought he was getting back my maximum refund.Tax season came and I got my W2 and Mike asked me if I deducted those expenses that I never got reimbursed for.  I said “I don’t know, I just give my W2 to my tax guy”. Mike then asked me a series of questions that my tax guy never asked me.  Being loyal to my tax guy, I gave him my W2 and gave Mike my W2. The amount my tax guy got me as a refund wasn’t even close to what Foster Ventures got me. My tax guy didn’t claim my unreimbursed work-related expenses for years.  Foster Ventures not only got me a bigger refund for this year, but he also amended my past returns and I received an additional refund on all of them.  Thanks Mike!
